Today’s Open on Hawk Lake proved to be a good choice, with four weights over 100lbs. Ron Buckley (Bury) was on Peg 20 the fancied peg and won with 128lbs 0oz. Ron fished across and down the margins late on, to catch Carp and Barbel on pellet and maggot. Unlucky in second was Steve Pell (Decoy Lakes) on Golden Peg 19 just missing out by four ounces, weighing 127lbs 12oz. Third placed angler was Ken Clarke (Westwood Lakes) Peg 17 with 118lbs 4oz.
