Hawk Lake £1000 Qualifier Open Match (20 anglers)
For the second time this week a lake match record is broken. This time it was the turn of Hawk Lake to turn on, and Martin Kirk (Millview Tackle) made no mistake from his plum draw on Peg 1. Martin started the match fishing across on expander pellet over 4mm feed pellet to catch Carp and F1’s. Switching to his margin swim for the final two hours with just his top kit, to take Barbel and Carp for the new lake record of 150lbs 4oz. Two more ton weights also came to the scales, with Steve Gregory (Middy/Miracle Baits) Peg 10 weighing 118lbs 4oz and Dave Corcoran (Sensas Mark One) Peg 19 weighing 102lbs 10oz.
