Coronavirus Statement

Thank you for your patience whilst we get a fully formulated plan into place in regards of opening Westwood Lakes back up.

Following the government guidelines released as of 23rd June we have made sure that we are a COVID-secure business. We understand that they have advised for accommodation to house only members from two households. Due to our lodges being specifically made for us it means there is a lot more space than a typical caravan home, all single beds have a minimum distance of 1.2metres between them (this excludes our Swallow lodges, they have a much smaller area). If you are not comfortable with sharing a bedroom then we are happy for you to bring your own sleeping bag and blow up mattress to further social distance yourselves. We will not be supplying any additional bedding for those who bring their own blow up bed.

We will be leaving our hot tubs running and will be maintaining them throughout the season, however it is at the customer’s discretion whether you choose to use it or not.

All lodges will have disinfectant supplied for each bathroom, this is a measure supplied by us to help keep both our customers and employees safe. This will mean that you will have to clean your own surfaces down throughout your stay to keep the risk of any transmission down.

The café will be open on 7 days a week from 7:30am until 3pm and then from 6pm until 8pm for all evening meals, you will be able to sit inside the café or take the food back to your log cabin. All tables inside the café will be spaced according to the social distancing measures, there is also our outdoor seating where you are able to sit.

The mallard will be open on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10:30am – 3:00pm and then again 6:00pm until 10:00pm, Saturday and Sunday will be open all day, 10:30am until 10:00pm. Again, all seating both inside and out will have full social distancing measures in place, there is plenty of room for everyone. These hours may be subject to change.

The mallard and the fisherman’s rest have all the necessary systems in place for social distancing, there are clearly displayed entrances and exits to avoid the crossing over of members of the public when they are leaving and entering the building.

If you are entering fishing matches or the WWL Opens, then all draws are done by WWL staff at 8:30am outside of the main reception and all weighing in is being done by WWL staff and there is to be no following round of the weighing in to reduce the risk of breaking social distancing.

If you are shielding then you must follow all government guidelines that are in place for yourselves, we are unable to provide any additional protection for yourselves and others further than the outlined procedures of social distancing.

If you may be showing any symptoms of COVID-19; a fever, sore throat or a loss of sense of smell or taste, or you have been in contact with anyone who may be displaying these symptoms you must isolate for 14 days. Please do NOT come to Westwood Lakes if you are displaying any symptoms for the safety of other holiday makers and our staff.

All Westwood Lakes staff have been trained and understand the full cleaning procedures that must happen across the site and predominantly in the cabins. All cabins will be thoroughly sanitised and cleaned between each changeover of guests to ensure everyone is kept safe and well.

Please read all guidelines we have laid out before you arrive for your holiday. We are unable to assist if you have forgotten or not read and understood our guidelines. We want to keep our employees and our guests safe and happy whilst they are here at Westwood Lakes.

Thank you for your co-operation, we hope to see you soon.

From all here at Westwood Lakes.
