Westwood Lakes is the perfect base to explore our county of Lincolnshire. If you want to get out and about there are plentiful attractions and sightseeing to be done!
Firstly if you enjoy rambling and walking at Westwood Lakes we are in an enviable position of being adjacent to 30 acres of established woodland and adjoining a 10 acre wild flower park owned by the Woodlands Trust.
There are also many other walks in the surrounding area including riverside woodland park trails on the river Witham. RSPB nature reserves based locally at Frampton and Frieston and 23 miles away at Gibraltar Point near Skegness.

There is an abundance of fresh water fishing and golf courses to visit if you wish.
Also diverse shopping facilities from small market towns with shops and stalls selling all sorts of goods and items along with easy access 40 minutes to the historic city of Lincoln with its small specialist shops based in the steep hill area of the city to the large national chain stores in the city centre and retails parks.

There really is so much to see and do . . . we have plenty of information in the form of leaflets, guides, etc in our reception which will help you decide what you would like to do!

Listed below is a short list of information to get you started . . .

Boston - 5 mins. Historical market town. See the famous Boston Stump (St. Botolph’s Church) in the town centre. Visit the weekly market held on Wednesday and Saturday. Cruise along the river Witham or a trip out into the Wash on cruises that take place. An interesting array of plays and shows take place at Blackfriars Art Centre.

Lincoln - 40 mins. Historical city of Lincoln. Visit Lincoln Cathedral and Lincoln Castle. Stroll up the winding cobble streets of Uphill Lincoln with many small quaint interesting shops. Take in the Brayford Wharf with it barges, swans and waterside amenities. Visit the Waterside shopping centre if you feel the need for some retail therapy.

Skegness - 30 mins. This ever popular and expanding seaside resort with lots to offer. A walk along its pier and sandy beach. Take a paddle on the boating lake or visit one of the popular shows at the Embassy Theatre.
A few minutes down the road is the site of Fantasy Island based in Ingoldmells. A big resort and funfair with one of the biggest outdoor markets in the country. This is also the biggest caravan park in Europe!

Spalding - 20 mins. A small pretty market town. Street market held on Tuesday and Saturday. Water taxis available from the town centre to visit Springfields garden and shopping outlet. Visit Baytree Garden Centre at Weston one of Britain’s top award winners.
