Venue regular Pete Andrews had a bumper day in the latest £1,000 Qualifier. Pete fished worm and castor from peg 22 on Kestrel Lake. His 125lb 4oz total included 80lb of barbel. Second place Matt Arnold fished 4mm expander pellet over 4mm loose feed to tally 83lb.

Sunday’s team of 3 was very tight all round team wise. Three Baits put in a solid
team performance for an impressive 7pts. Individual wise, Luke Morley edges the tight
affair with 68lb 12oz on Skylark. Second place, Adam Wakelin had an all silver catch
made up barbel, ide and roach from Hawk, peg 7.
Third place was Steve Winters, fishing
with worm and castor from peg 34 on Skylark to weigh 62lb.

Tuesday’s £1,000 Qualifier Match on Skylark Lake
The last round of the teams of three turned out to be a thriller. Individual wise, Preston Innovations back Adam Wakelin showed his class once more netting 120lb 11oz of barel and carp from peg 11 on Hawk Lake, fishing 5 metres on worm and caster tight to the bare bank. Second place Rob Perkins fished worm and caster down the track and across to take 99lb 10oz of mainly barbel. Third place was Dynamite Baits angler Johnathan Taylor fishing corn to the bank from peg 13 on Hawk Lake. Team wise, Maver Youth won the round with an impressive 7 points total. Second place was Fox Match Trentman closely followed by Wakelin Warriors.
