All matches this week were switched to the more sheltered Kestrel Lake and anglers found it difficult to present anything.
Tuesday’s Open was won by the inform Ron Roberts using a flavoured small inline method with double dead read maggot with Marukyu 130 ground bait on the method from peg 21.
Second place Paul Quinton used similar tactics to the winner but late switch to a maggot feeder saw him have a good
last hour.

Thursday’s Over 50’s Open on Kestrel Lake was extremely tough beg em back Smude Smith came out on top from peg 7 on Kestrel Lake using small open ended feeder with banded pellet.

Sunday’s Open was won by Marukyu backed Steve Lane from peg 10 using open ended feeder with dead red maggot. Gary Walton used identical tactics to take runner up.

The Fur and Feather was fished on Skylark Lake and 31 anglers turned out for the contest.
Middy backed mark Rodgers came out on top with 46lb 12oz of F1’s using 4mm pellets hook bait over 2mm feed pellets.
Mark placed 67 fish for his final total. Venue regular, Nick Brumpton used his flavoured maggot approach at 11.5m to take small stocky carp and F1’s from peg 16. The ever consistent Steve Winters drew peg 5 and caught steadily all day on soft 4mm pellet and dead maggot combination.

On Bank Holiday saw the annual New Years Eve pairs fished on Skylark, Hawk and Kestrel Lakes.
All 50 anglers taking part had to battle the horrendous winds.
On the pairs front, Anglers Corner backed anglers Jimmy Brook and Adam Playford showed the rest a clean pair of heels with an impassive perfect 2pt score and 1
st and 4th individually Adam Playford drew fancied peg 25 on Kestrel Lake and fished the method feeder with swimstim ground bait and 3 dead red maggots to tempt F1’s and small stockiest for his 51lb 14oz total to take the total section win and top individual.
Partner Jimmy Brooks alternated between 4mm expander presented tight across on Skylark peg 23 to take 47 F1’s and 6 stockies for his 37lb 4oz total to take his section.
On the other side of the lake, UK Champion Jason Lebosquet fished pellet at various depths and lines to win the lake and second individually with 41lb 8oz of F1’s and stockies up to 3lb.
Hawk Lake fished extremely hard, but Matt Arnold made the most of his good draw on peg 1 to take F1’s, stockies and ide in his 40lb 8oz bag all taken on corn and maggot at 13m.

In the latest Wetwood over 50s Bag Em backed rod Smudge Smith presented pellet at 11.5m on the far side ledge from peg 33 on Skylark to tempt small F1’s, carp to 2lb and token 4lb bream for a total weight of 30lb 8oz, second place went to Miracle Baits backed Alan Treadwell who opted for an all maggot approach from peg 9 to take 26lb 8oz of mainly small barbel and F1’s.
