Kingfisher Lake is the original lake at Westwood and holds the largest fish in the
complex. It boasts massive stocks of carp, tench and bream, along with other species.
I
tend to target the larger carp, tench and bream by fishing my own branded Miracle
paste or a Miracle Baits white snowball either close in to the margins or across
to the islands. I keep this as simple as I can by feeding 4mm fishery pellets little
and often.
Rig wise I use a 0.6g float with 0.21mm mainline and a 6 inch 0.18mm hook
length completed with a size 12 Mustard hook matched up to a 18 elastic.
The second
method I employ is pellet fished on the deck or shallow. A 6mm explander either natural
or a white snowball 6mm work a treat for fishing at depth or a 6mm banded hard pellet
set at around 2ft deep. Loose feeding 4mm or 6mm fishery pellets every 30 seconds.
Tapping or slapping also works when they really are having it!
